چکیده
We present new deep, high-resolution, 1.5 GHz observations of the prototypical nearby Perseus galaxy cluster from Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array. isolate for first time complete tail radio emission bent-jet NGC 1272, which had been previously mistaken to be part mini-halo. The possibility that diffuse contributes mini-halo may a general phenomenon in relaxed cool-core clusters, and should explored. collimated jets 1272 initially bend west, then transition eastward into faint, 60 kpc-long extensions with eddy-like structures filaments. suggest interpretations these involve bulk motions intracluster gas, galaxy's orbit including projection effects, passage through sloshing cold front. Instabilities turbulence created at surface this front turbulent wake infalling host most likely play role formation observed structures. also discover series faint rings, south-east are type structure has never seen before clusters.

IRAS galaxies in the Perseus cluster
We cross-correlate the optical catalogue of galaxies in the field of the Perseus cluster (Abell 426) with IRAS PSC sources. The optical catalogue comprises data on 660 galaxies brighter than B25 ≈ 19.5 (Brunzendorf & Meusinger 1999). A sample of 19 IRAS galaxies is found. According to their redshifts, 17 galaxies are likely members of the Perseus cluster, two are background galaxies. The sample...
متن کاملASCA Observations of the Temperature and Metal Distribution in the Perseus Cluster of Galaxies
Large-scale distributions of hot-gas temperature and Fe abundance in the Perseus cluster have been studied with multi-pointing observations by the GIS instrument on ASCA. Within a radius of 20 from the cluster center, the energy spectra requires two temperature components, in which the cool component indicates kT ∼ 2 keV and the hot-component temperature shows a significant decline from about 8...
متن کاملDetection of the velocity dipole in the radio galaxies of the NRAO VLA Sky Survey
We are in motion against the cosmic backdrop. This motion is evidenced by the systematic temperature shift – or dipole anisotropy – observed in the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (CMB) [1]. Because of the Doppler effect, the temperature of the CMB is 0.1 per cent higher in our direction of motion through the Universe. If our standard cosmological understanding is correct, this dipole sho...
متن کاملXMM-Newton Observation of IC 310 in the Outer Region of the Perseus Cluster of Galaxies
We present results from an XMM-Newton observation of the head-tail radio galaxy IC 310 located in the southwest region of the Perseus cluster. The spectrum is well-fitted by an absorbed power-law model with a photon index of 2.50±0.02 with no significant absorption excess. The X-ray image shows a point-like emission at IC 310 without any signs of a structure correlated with the radio halo tail....
